Ngang District, Soc Trang Province
Characteristics: It is a traditional rite of
people in coastal areas. During the festival, the villagers hold many solemn
rituals, such as the processions of Nam Hai, Ba Chua Xu, Cau, Ca Ong Voi and the
worship ceremony of Shen Nong (the Agricultural Deity). Also, there are many
rituals and folk games such as, high-jump, fish-catching, etc. The festival ends
with a ceremony of seeing boats off to the sea.
