Strange story
A man sleepless for more than 35 years

Stories about a Vietnamese man who has been sleepless for over 35 years have been widely published in the mass media. He is 65-year-old Thai Ngoc, now living in Que Trung Commune, Nong Son District in the central province of Quang Nam.

Vietnam’s longest bamboo bridge

The Truong Giang Bridge, nearly 500m long and 1.8m wide, crossing over the Truong Giang River, linking Duy Thanh and Duy Nghia Commune in Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province in Central Vietnam, is the longest bamboo bridge in Vietnam.

Giant Calligraphy Book in Vietnam

The largest Vietnamese calligraphy book outlining the three Declarations of Independence impresses any viewer because of the high quality calligraphy and its historical value. It is the second record by Trinh Tuan, the other being the 300m-long calligraphy masterpiece entitled “The Story of Kieu” in 2005.

Fisher-originated artists

Nearly 20 “artists” on lanky bamboo legs of three to four metres in height entered the scene amidst the cheers and shouts of tens of thousands of spectators. They are the walk-on-stilt team of Quan Vinh Village, Nghia Thang Commune, Nghia Hung District, Nam Dinh Province.

The wedding dress made of flowers

Looking at the unique wedding dress, one can’t help wondering how a girl without any art training could have applied such a striking colour blend in her work. It took Luong, together with six others, two days of hard work to finish the dress. “All I do is just to satisfy my passion for flowers,” said Luong, satisfied with her work.

After years of researching, Nguyen Xuan Cuong and his son in Dai Bai Commune, Gia Binh District, Bac Ninh Province, managed to make a gong with a diameter of 170 cm and a weight of 134 kg, which is recognized as Vietnam’s largest.
