Making terracotta pots in Hon Dat

Hon Dat Town in Vietnam's southernmost province of Kien Giang was known nationwide for being the cradle of the glorious Oc Eo Culture dating back to ancient times. In recent years, the local people have attracted more public attention due to their development of a traditional craft, the making of terracotta pots.

House of Bac Lieu Dude

Anyone who visits Bac Lieu Town in Vietnam’s southern province of Bac Lieu would like to stop over at the locally famous "House of Bac Lieu Dude" (now Bac Lieu Dude Hotel) either for an overnight stay or a quick look. The house is located at No.13 on Dien Bien Phu Street in Ward 3 and still attracts many curious visitors.

Co Tu ethnic group

According to statistics from 2004, the Co Tu ethnic group has a population of 50,458 people, of whom 42,558 live in Quang Nam Province in Central Vietnam.  This is the second largest ethnic group in Vietnam, after the Kinh majority. They play a very important role in the development of the province’s western strategic area.

Le Hung – Wizard of the Theatre

People's Artist and stage director Le Hung is Director of the Tuoi Tre (Youth) Theatre headquartered in Hanoi. By contemporaries and enthusiasts of the performing arts he is known as an "old wolf", a "wizard" and a "fiend" of the Vietnamese contemporary theatre. Besides directing a series of classical dramas that have stirred up much public accolades, he has surprised audiences with a series of comedies entitled "Laughs of Life" which always draw a great number of spectators to his theatre every night.

Dang Mau Tuu’s Paintings

Oil paintings by Dang Mau Tuu show both the abstractive strokes of the modern painting genre and exaggerated strokes of Chinese painting. Nguyen Tien Cuong, Vietnam’s Ace Archer

After 12 years of competition involving three generations of archers, Vietnam’s national flag has finally been hoisted over the shooting range at the medal presentation ceremony. The archer who has been awarded the title “A hundred shots, a hundred bulls’ eyes” of Vietnamese archery is Nguyen Tien Cuong, a 21-year-old Hanoian.

Strange story
A man sleepless for more than 35 years

Stories about a Vietnamese man who has been sleepless for over 35 years have been widely published in the mass media. He is 65-year-old Thai Ngoc, now living in Que Trung Commune, Nong Son District in the central province of Quang Nam.
